My Audience - YOU!

Oops - I am a day late. Hey, I’m new at this, I gotta give myself a little grace, eh! Thanks for your patience, and for popping in.

My prevailing internet search “how to,…” recently brought me to a blog about writing blogs, imagine that. The first bullet point under Plan your content is: Define your purpose and audience. Well, I do know my purpose. It is to reach you and keep you coming back, and ask you to spread the word, to eventually provide unique one-of-a-kind art pieces to clients. Audience? I know not as well. Up until now my audience were the people walking by my market booths or pop-up galleries. They were from a wide demographic, but their similarity was that they were intrigued enough to stop in to take a closer look. Further getting to know them was through in person conversations. I have met excited children and interested and interesting teens, who were drawn to the entrancing images and bright colours. The curious middle aged and the enthralled elderly have been intrigued by the way I have matched colours and effects, or made the frame and image become one., for instance. Artists and photographers alike always seem awestruck and commented they’ve “never seen anything like it”. That’s the in-person audience.

My medium for creating, your medium for viewing, our medium for connecting.

The audience of the website? Who are they, what draws them in? They (you) probably have many similarities to the in person audience, but different in a way too. You are most probably computer, tablet, device and internet savvy. Perhaps you are a walker by, and you happened upon my website as you were browsing the internet, or perhaps you are a searcher, searching for art, photography, with maybe even a wider search for abstract or eclectic art.

With all of this in mind, I am trying to figure out which hashtags to put on my other social media platforms to extend my reach and draw a wide, diverse audience. I myself haven’t been very savvy at making a presence on Facebook and Instagram. I hope to elevate that savvy in the near future.

So, many thanks for popping in this week. My ask is for you to please send me a quick message about how you happened upon this Photographic Imagerations website. Perhaps you picked up a business card or brochure and used the QR code, or maybe it was recommended by a friend, or you saw the post on Facebook or Instagram. And, lastly, what made you “click”? Curiosity, interest in art or photography, the name, or, …. “just because”.

And, thanks for this help. I appreciate you, your interest and your feedback. I am very grateful for this newfound passion and that I can create and show the artworld a new and unique genre that appeals to so many,
